THERE IS A LEGITIMATE REASON FOR ME TO DRINK SOOOO MANY CUPS OF TEA AT WORK!!
After water tea is the second most consumed drink in the world.
The results of a study on the effects of tea on stress were published in the Journal of Physiological Anthropology in January this year.
The study compared the effects of inhaling black tea and inhaling water. The researchers measured the levels of a substance that is released in saliva in response to stress.
AFTER 30 MINUTES OF TASKS THAT CAUSED MENTAL STRESS THERE WERE LOWER LEVELS OF THE SUBSTANCE IN THE SALIVA AFTER THE INHALATION OF BLACK TEA VS WHEN WATER WAS INHALED.
Different types of black tea were used and it did not affect the result.
“TEA CONSUMPTION BENEFICIALLY AFFECTS MOOD AND ATTENTION, IMPROVES RELAXATION AND CONCENTRATION, REDUCES TIREDNESS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS, INCREASES WORK PERFORMANCE, AND SO ON,” THE AUTHORS STATED.”
Based on this research and evidence I will continue my excessive tea drinking habit happy in the knowledge that it is not only reducing my stress levels but also helping me so stay awake.
